I ordered this case for my iPad 2 after reading the mixed reviews. I have to say that the case is absolutely beautiful in person and I love it! I will confirm that the sleep/wake function does not work very well however, but this is not a big deal to me as I can easily touch the switch at the top of the iPad to turn it off. The cover does smell like new plastic, but it is not as overwhelming as some reviews made it seem. It does not need airing out at all. There was also a review from someone who stated that the case did not secure the iPad at all. I also saw a review on YouTube stating the same thing. The case does fit properly and easily snaps into all four corners and I am happy about this as this was my main concern. There are three ridges to hold the iPad upright, and the first one does not hold the iPad in very well at all. It slips out without even a touch. The other two work perfectly. In portrait mode, all three ridges hold the iPad upright. All in all I would recommend this case if you just need something to keep the iPad in and keep it secure. If you need perfect execution of all the features as advertised for this case, perhaps it would be better to get the Targus 360 instead. This case is strictly for covering the iPad and for extra security while you’re carrying it around. If your going to be blogging and need the ridges to properly hold the iPad upright or if you are always on the go and need to know that when you close the case the iPad will turn off, this case is not for you. I hope this review helps the next customer.

I purchased this case in mid May and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. I didn’t read the reviews before I purchased it, but I am glad I didn’t because I probably would not have purchased it. I have read a lot of mixed reviews. This is what I have found out about my case so far…

1. 360 swivel- Mine swivels perfectly. No issues at all.
2. Not holding the iPad securely- Mine holds my iPad securely with no problems. I have never had mine slip out or not fit at all.
3. Elastic band- The band on mine did not come in black as the picture advertises. It actually came in a tan color but it was not an issue for me.
4. Landscape stand up positions- My iPad sits in all the ridges without any problems. It doesn’t slip out unless I am moving or touching the iPad too much. (Too much as in typing or playing a game- for the typing issue I purchased a foldable, travel keyboard that works wonderfully through bluetooth.) While watching movies or my cable (through the Time Warner Cable app) my iPad stays in the propped position of my choice whether landscape or portrait.
5. Sleep smart case- My case puts my iPad to sleep. I will say, I have noticed that once it puts it to sleep if I move the case, say to put it in my bag or lay it down on a table, I have noticed that it will wake my iPad up but then puts it back to sleep right away.

Those were the main issues I saw posted so I wanted to give my experience thus far.

I’m a first time amazon buyer, but could not find the perfect ipad2 case for me so I gave it a try. I am very impressed with the Whole order from easy purchasing, to receiving my product in excellent condition, to the fast shipping! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone! It has a very smooth 360 degree swivel. The wake sleep function is awesome, it saves a lot of battery life! I love this product!

Fits perfect on the iPad 2! Color is beautiful and it’s very useful. Highly recommend it! It protects from scratches and very light! The smart cover function works great!

I have gotten so many complements on this case. I was upset that the case did not snap but, after talking to the seller and they wonderful customer service and willingness to ensure I was happy with my product I came to find out that this case was for the ipad 2 and did not work on my ipad 3. The seller went above and beyond to ensure I picked out another product to my satisfaction that fix my ipad. I returned this case ( which I absolutely loved!!) and my new case is on it’s way. I would recommend this product as it was very durable, fits right in my purse and the leather felt great.

LOVE this case! So girly with it’s pretty pink color. I’ve ordered other things online and the “pink” turns out to look like orange when I get the item. Not the situation with this item. It stands up great in the ridges to watch movies and use FaceTime as well. Great way to protect my iPad 2 and be in style. The pink case also ensures my husband won’t take my iPad anywhere……HA!”

I bought the red faux crocodile case. It’s gorgeous and looks classy. However, I’m not sure how many times I want my iPad 2 to slip out of the ridges that hold it up, and fall flat. It’s happened about 20 times tonight. I was showing my friend the new iPad 2, she has a first gen iPad, and she asked why I felt I needed a new case and as soon as she said that and pressed an app on my iPad, down it went falling flat. She said “Oh!” The ridges that are supposed to hold it in place at a slight angle upright are not deep enough and the iPad slips out of it while typing and falls flat. I’m going to have to buy another case that’s sturdier (I heard the gumdrop case is excellent but you pay a lot more) but this one is extremely nice for show and tell.

Update: I’ve raised the 3 star to a 4 star because I just found out this is a Smart Case. I didn’t realize that when I bought it. iPad 2 shuts off when you close the case and turns on when you open it. Cool. (It still constantly slips out of the groves that keep it upright though.)

For my wife’s Ipad2 and the fit was perfect AND it swivels which is nice too AND you can actually see the apple on the back which is cool. really happy with the purchase too bad it didn’t qualify for super saver shipping lol…..one thing to keep in mind though is don’t bend the cover flap behind the ipad2 cuz with time the portrait standing positions won’t work but that was my wife’s fault :/ I told her to treat it like a hardcover book and not a paperback.
