Google had warned Samsung against copying the Ipad
Samsung seem to have not listened and have now got burnt.
It appears that the Korean outfit may have been a little too arrogant about their latest designs and did not heed warnings. This is a little disappointing to hear as the natural tendency is to support the underdog in a battle – and certainly Samsung is the underdog in the Tablet world when going up against Apple.

Worse, Samsung reportedly was well aware that its Galaxy smartphones and tablets bore a striking resemblance to the iPhone and iPad. The Big Kahuna, so to speak, comes at the end of the month when the US trial will go ahead. Apple are making substantial fiscal claims and Samsung are responding with argument. It's nothing new but the outcome may be profound if Samsung lose, with the Korean manufacturer having to think seriously about taking a new direction whilst licking some seriously painful wounds.
