Processor and Operating System
For those familiar with the Samsung Galaxy S2 , this was the initial smartphone from Samsung to have a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor. The S3 goes further with a 1.4 GHz Exynos processor and gives other smartphones such as LG (Optimus 4X HD) and HTC (One X) a run for their money. The OS preferred by the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the innovative and much talked about Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ which runs Samsung’s custom Android UI called TouchWiz. It has a good amount of advancements over the earlier version that comes with the S2, the application aimed at making it probably the most intuitive interface on the market that responds to a number of natural actions and movements.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is famous for the high quality of its touchscreen and the Galaxy S3 continues the tradition. The latest version sports a bigger screen measuring 4.8 inches , beating out its older siblings in the Galaxy smartphone series by half an inch. Exactly the same standard screen technology is sustained in the Samsung Galaxy S3 with a Super-AMOLED capacitive panel, that is recognized among the very best popular features of the Galaxy S2. In the new edition however, you'll be getting a screen resolution that has been hiked to 720p , which translates to mean the Galaxy S3 will be offering quality high definition content such as movies and games.

Many had heard, in pre-launch rumors, that the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be including a 12 megapixel camera. A disappointment to some would be that it does not have a camera pixel as high as 12 and stays with the 8 megapixel instead. Even though the camera’s pixel count isn't as high as anticipated, it is definitely not disappointing. An abundance of additional features have been put into the camera function, making it simpler to utilize than before. Using the capture icon, you can capture up to 20 photos with a single touch allowing a choice for the one you may wish to keep. , Image stabilization, face detection and an LED flash are featured in the latest model and the video capture is in 1080p high definition – fantastic for HD screen streaming.
What is surprising for a screen as large as that on the Samsung Galaxy S3 is that it runs with dimensions of 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm, impressive as it has to accommodate a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen.
What's not so cool about the Samsung Galaxy S3?
If you're an S2 user you will not find this as a negative (the S2 is a massive seller) but be warned, for those who are unfamiliar with the Samsung Galaxy smartphone series, the feel is a little…well, cheap. The plastic sense of the Galaxy S3 won't be appealing to everyone. The trade of is a delightfully lightweight (133g) and slim-line device that seems to mould comfortably in the hand.
